Spain, off the Balearic Islands, Spring 2007

Europe is in the grip of a series of terrorist attacks when Tommaso, a young Scottish-Italian archaeologist, is summoned to London by a lawyer who offers him the task of finding a shipwreck.

It seems like the dream of a lifetime... but Tommaso doesn't realise what events are about to be triggered off.  Suspected of murder, hunted by unknown killers, he is forced to flee and take up with Claire, the daughter of a mysterious Sorbonne professor.

From Paris to Jerusalem, from secret CIA prisons to Palermo and to the ruins of Carthage, he is caught up in a breathless pursuit. Only he can unravel the thread connecting all these events. Events which threaten his life and the lives of those he loves. Events which will give him the key to one of the laws governing the world.
